New Basis of Payment A circular just issued to suppliers and shareholders of the New Zealand Dairy Arsociation Bets forth a new basin cf payment for butter-fat-to rank as from September Ist-as thr outctme of comment made at Ihu rec.nt annual meeting in regard to existing anomalies. The Directors/ decision is as follows:

The monthly payments for butterfat shall, except as stated herein, be regulated as follows: — 1. All h'-st grt>6i butterr-fat ex rail, consigned in quantities to secure the minimum railage, shall, except as p.ovided in Claus.B 2 atd 3 hereof, be paid lor at the same rate, whether aupplifd in milk at creamciy or in cream to a central factory or railway station, provided, however, that deduction shall be made: (a) From milk supply to cover cost of separation and delivery to railway station or central factory, (b) Frcm cream supply to cover the cost, if any, of d.livery to central factory or railway station, as is usual in tnc case of cream supply; also to cover ether service which in a few cases is rendered by creamery organisations. Such charge for cartage shall be based upon the actual cost in distMcts where a special service is arranged. If the creamery cart delivers home separation cream, the charge will be such as is usual for the service rendered.

Note. —lf delivery is made to a central factory or railway station. without tbe use of any cartage service for which the Association is responsible, deduction will not be made.

2. A premium uf one-eighth of a penny per lb will be paid upon all butter tat delivered direct to the central factory without passing uver the railways. 3. A premium of one farthing per lb will be paid upon ail first grade butter-fat delivered daily from September to March, whether supplied in milk or cream, provided, however, that for the piesent season such premium shall be paid upon all first grade butter-fat supplied during September. 4. All railage charges'upon cream carried by rail will be paid by the Association.

The change of policy outlined will entirely elimiaate the quantity bones which has been paybale in July. Instead, it is proposed that, subject to the balance available at end of season permitting, shareholders shall, in addition to receiving such dividend as may be sanctioned by the annual meeting, also receive upon such tf their supply as is covered by shareholding in the usual proportion, a profit bonus of id per lb. All further distibution by way of bonus stall be participated in ty shareholders and non-shareholders alike.
