A tangi is proceeding it the Pa at Kobanga, the death of Mr Jams Moore, brother of Constable Moore, who was at one time in charge cf the Tuakau station, having occurred.,
The channel and fco'.paths in the main street are receiving much necessary attention, and the work will assist greatly to abate the mud nuisance.
Mr Ldward Matete has disposed ot bis property of 9'J acres at Onewhero, it having been purchased by Mr Muir. Mr (J. Poole, who was until recently on the salt at the Tuakau railway station, has been placed on the list of r.on-comnmsior.ed officers for the tenth reinforcement draft, subject to the approval of Major Northcrof. He is to repo-t at Hamilton ti-dny. The death is rcpoittd by the Defence Department uf Troo,;er William Charles Glasgow, sm of Mr W. Glasgow. Trooper Glasgow died of enteric fever in the Hcllnpolis Hospital. A photo of tbe deceased will be reproduced in our issue of Friday next, accompanied by a short biograpLical sketch. A new launch, adapted for plying for the passenger and goods traffic services on the Waikato river, has been purchased by Mr Arthur 0. Lapwood, of Tuakau. Special passenger trips to tbe Heads and other localities un the river can be arranged by applying to Mr Lapwood, who will elso persunally supervise tr.e transit of cargo.
