WAIAU PA.
A very pltasant evening was spent in tbe Waiua Pa Hall on Thursday of last week, when Mr and Mrs (J. J. Clark gave a dance on the occasion of their eldest daughter's (May's) twenty-first birthday. The event was the first of its kind to be held 111 the new hall. Mies Clark «as the recipient of many valuable and useful presents. During the evening Mr CJrinUr, in a neat speech, wished Mies Clark, on behalf of thcae present, many happy returns of the day, also handiug her a gift. Mr Clark suitably responded. The weather beirg fine, friends came from Waiuku, Pum, Le Awamutu, Patumahoe and Karaka, and there was an attendance of about J55. The floor was in excellent order, for which credit was cue to Mr S. Owen, who also madu an eflicient M.C. Dancing wad merrily mainlined well into the night, excellent music being played by Mesarß McLariu Bros. During the evening songs were rendered by Mrs Robinson, Misj Irwin and Mr J. Roper. A sumptuous supper was pai taken of.
