PATUMAHOE.
A cla3s of field instructiou in agriculture is being conducted as from yesterday by Mr A. V. Donnan, instructor in agriculture for the Auckland Board of Education. A farm at Putumaboe has been lent for the purpose, and the operations will continue for a week or ten days. JWr Donnan has*selected about thirty of the most promising students in the Aucklard educalion district, and he anticipates that first-class result* will be obtained.
A full house greeted the Gallipoll
Concert Company, of Waiuku, on Wednesday evening, on the occasion of their concert for the Wounded Soldiers' Fund. The first part of the programme consisted of songs and recitations, and the second part was taken by the niggtr
minstrels. The following items were rendered in the first part:— ""The Veteran's Song," Mr B. Wright; Bong, "The Swallow," Miss H. Hosßiter; recitation, "Nat Understood," Rev. Father Skinner; song, "Knitting for the Solilierf," Miss Muir, and as an encore "Salaam"*; song, 'Ragtime Violin," Mr 'l'ong; Eong, "My Little Grey Home in the West," Miss E. Kcseitcr, encore "Better ask Me"; recitation, "A Hindoo's Paradur,"

Day is l)on«"; tonp, "The Eyes of Grey," Miss H. Hossiter; reading, "llie Hatless Uriziide, Rev. J. I'uascll. 'lhe Nigger Minstrels kept the audience entertained until about 10. SO p.m., au'.l then the National Anthem w«a furg. Many of the young people remained behind for the dance. As u result of the concert, about £7 will be added to the large amount aleatly raised by the - energetic ualiipoli Concert Company.
