PAPAKURA.
Some few week ago the report came through that Farrier-Sergeant Joe Wilson, of the Otsgo Battalion, 2nd Reinforcements, who is a nephew of Mrs D. Wilson, Papakura, and a step-son of Mr 3 Lizzie Wilson, Pukekohe, had been admitted to the hospital suffering from pneumonia and pericarditis, contracted while serving with his regiment. Further news of Sergeant Wilson was last week received by Mrs D. Wilson, of Papakura, in a letter written by him on August 10th, while an inmate of the Government Hospital, Egypt. He stated that he had had a rough time with pneumonia and that it took him all his time to pull through, but at the time of writing he was progressing favourably and looking forward tc being back in the firing line at the Dardanelles. Before being taking ill'ha was twelve weeks and three days at Gallipali, and was never in better health. Touching on the treatment meted out in the Hospital, he stated that he could not have received better attention had he been at home," He added that h 3 had seen "Y.ung' Wilson (led Wilson's ton) Iron. Wairoa, and was talking to Bobby Munro the dav befora the latter wis killed in action. He concludes by sta'ing that it was likely he would be leaving on furlough for England the following week.
