THE NEW CHKESE FACTORY.

TENDER ACCEPTED. A meeting of shareholders of the Waikato Co-operative Dairy Company wa&-,held at Mr London's residence on Tuesday evening of last week, Mr J. Muir occupying the chair. Mr Goodfellow, the managing director nf the company, addressed the meeting, and submitted plans of tfe proposed buildings, tenders for which had closed on the 14th met. It was decided by the meeting to accept tbe tender of Mr Hewson, contractor, of Pukekohe, for the erection of the cheese factory, curing room and manager's residence, ' the same to be completed and ready for use by Octiber 20th, the contract price being £1570. The machinery and p'ant have all been ordered, and the contracts for the delivery of coal from Huntly and for the taking of cheese toMercer have also been let. This will inaugurate a regular boat service between Aka Aka and Mercer, which will, in itself, be a very decided advantage to residents here.

Mr Goodfellow spoke most hopefully of the prospects of cheese for the coming season. Subsequently a meeting of directors was held to consider the appointment of a factory manager, for which position a large number of applications had been received. The name of the successful candidate has not yet been made public.

The only candidate that has so tar offered himself for election to the vacancy un the Aka Aka P- hage Board, caused by the n-. u t.a* tion of Mr S. N. West, is Mr F. J. Bregmen.
