PATUMAHOE.
DEATH OF MR H. SOMMERVILLE. We regret to record the death, at his residence, at Patumaho 9 , on Thurtday last, at the age of 76 years, of Mr Henry Sommerville. The deceased gentleman, who was born in Ireland, arrived in New Zealand by the sailing ship Dauntless some 52 years ago in company with his brother, Mr John Sommerville. He first engaged in farming on the Union road, Mauku, and about 20 years ago purchased Mr H. Aspden's farm in Mauku at the junction of the Waiuku and Tramway roads. Some two yearß since he surrendered that property to bis two sor.s and acquired a residence adjac.nt to the Patumahce School, where he lived unt 1 the time of his death. As one of the earliest pioneers in the dis'rict he was everywhere held in great regard, He is survived bv a widow, two sons and ore daughter, the lastnamed being Mrs Vincent, of Churchill, 'the funeral took place on Friday afternco: 1 , at the Mauku cemetery.
