PAPAKURA.
The Operetta "Princcs3 Chrysanthemum," arranged by Miss Anderson in aid of the local schcol funds, was performed last Thursday evening in a most successrful manner, and in the presence of a gathering that was one of the largest that has ever assembled in the Public Hall. 'lhe nett proceeds of the entertainment were, approximately, £l2 1U?. It may truly be attributed to Miss Andereon that she worked wonders in bringing the thirty performers to such a high scate of efficiency as was exhibited. The arrangements went off without a hitch. The different scenes in the four acts were exceedingly pretty, the scene in the cave of "Inky Night" with the sprites gathered therein being particularly Effective. Mr Johnson hss made himself extremely popular during his stay in the district, and it was no surprise that a large number of his friends gathered together to bid him "adieu."
