SCHOOL COMMITTEE ELECTIONS.
BOMBAY. The following were elected as the School Commitiee at the householders' meeting on Wednesday, viz. :--Mfrasrs W. K. Cornthwaite (chairman, secretary and R. Donovan, W, R. Watson, A. French, G. Common. PUKEKOHE. The annual meeting of householders was h=ld in the Pukekohe School on Wednesday evening, Mr A. P. Daysh, chairman of Committee, presiding. The attendance was limited osing (o the rival attraction of the municipal elections. On a vote the Rev. F. B. Dobson, Messrs A. P. Dayeh, .). Pilkington, E. Smith, J. Bellhouse, C. Roadlcy, F. Perkins, A. F. Brown and J. Patterson were elected as the School Committee, Messrs J. W. Hindman, Jackson, F. Pearce and F. Simpson being also candidates. Messrs Daysfi, Smith, Bellhouse, Koadley, and Hindman were membara of the old Committee. PA PA K UK A. At the householders' meeting held on Wednesday night the following were duly elected as a Committee:— Kev. J. D. C. Madill (chairman), S. Evans (secretary), L. J. Mills, W. McLean, James Andrews, H. W. Geissler and J. E. Wocdhouse. PUNI. Considerable interest was manifested in the proceedings at a meeting of householders held in the funi School on Wednesday, for the purpose of eleciing a new committee. The building was well filled, amongst those present being a number of ladits. Nine catdi dates were nominated, the result of the voting b'eicg as follows: Elected: Messrs W. Preece 17, J. Landon 17, J. Crosbie 36, W. Parkinson 15, and A. Landon 14. Not elected: F. Mouldey 8, P. Rogers 5, W. Dazelej 4, K. Fulton 4.
At a subsequent meeting of the committee Mr J. Lar.dou waa appointed chairman and Mr Preece secretary. t'UKEKOHE EAST.
At the annual meeting of householder held on Wednesday evening, Mr W. Kobinson presiding, the drait of a petition to be forwarded ta the Board of Education askingtor the appointment ui' a mala teacher was read. A discussion ensued as to whether a female or a mala teacher should be asked for, and on a vot. j pieference waa given for the latter by seven vo'es to five. There were seven candidates for the five seats on the Committee. Messrs A. White (chairman), Thos. Hamilton (secretary), H. -). Hills, M. Ballard and J. Glenie were elected, Messrs Uoddu and Coulson being the other candidates. KAMA KAMA. The annual meeting of houeholders was held in the school on Wednesday night. Mr McKay occupied the chair and read the yearly report. Mr Baker, secretary, submitted the balar.ca sheet for the ten months ending December 31st, showing a balance of £5 9s Bd. The following weie elected as the School Committee for the ensuing year, viz. Messrs McKay (chairman), L. Baker (secretary and treasurer), H. Pijkington, P. Gannon and W. Oldham. WHANGAKATA. The following were elected as the School Committee for Whangarata on Wednesday, viz.:—Messrs J. Fulton (chairman), W. H. Coad, J, S. McGahan, W. L. Campbell and K. B. Joughin. WAIUKU DISTRICT.
At the aunual meeting of houseliolders comprising Glenbrook, Wailangi, Aka Aku, Kariotuln and Waiuku hold yesterday, the following committee were elected, viz., Messrs C. T. Barriball, K. Iloney, J. Whittan, E. Hudson, J. "Williams, W. L. Henton, J. B. Copeland, A. M. Barriball and S. TRossiter. The balance shoot showed a credit balance of £l2 8s 6d. At tho ensuing committee mooting Mr C T. Barriball was elected chairman, Mr Williams treasurer and Mr C. A. Greenhead secretary.
