A special meeting of the Waiuku Town Board, held on Monday evening, was attended by Messrs R. T. Keid (chairman), A. J. Barriball, Jas. Gribble and Jas. Walters. The question of by-laws was further dealt with, and it was considered that those in fores at Te Awamutu were most appropriate. Portions were also taken f:om Helecsville by-laws. Further information was desired on other regulations thougnt necessary, and when this is available steps will be taken to adopt by-laws with legal approval. Among other matters deilt with it was decided, on the chairman's suggestion, to procure 150 vaids of crushed metal for maintenance purposes from Mr V. Parry. A redy from the pustal authorities explained that the Board's request for the installation of several letter-boxes would necessitate an addition to the oflice stall, which was not regarded as warranted. The Department, however, was prepared 10 have the box at Arkle's corner moved further down the street and provide an extra box at the school corner.-The Board agreed to accept the Department's suggestion.
