BOMBAY.
RABBITS AND NOXIOUS WEEDS. On Saturday evening the Bombay branch of the Farmers' Union called a meeting of all farmers in the district to meet the noxious weeds and rabbit inspectors, Messrs Ross and Rowao. There was aa excellent response, between 60 and 60 farmers turning out, Mr Thomas, president of the Bombay branch of the Farmers' Union, presided. The chairman asked Messrs Rowan and Ross to teil the meeting what had been done in the districts to cope with the evil of noxious weeds and rabbits, especially the latter. Mr Rowan explained what they had doce at the meeting in Ararimu the night previous. Atter a long discussion it was unanimously agreed to fprm a strong committee to assist the inspectors in enforcing the Act, especially the destruction of rabbits, and to leave the dealing with noxious weeds with the inspectors. A committee of 14 was selected, representing the whole of the Paparata road district and a portion of the Maungatawhin road district. Mr Thomas was elected chairman and Mr C. V. Pilkinglon secretary and tresaurer. It was agreed that poisoning should commence on the Ist March, and each committee man will have a certain portion of the district to look after and see that everyone in his part of the district does his share of laying poison, and defaulters will be promptly reported to headquarters and the inspectors would deal with thein; also the absentees would be dealt with by the inspectors.
Both the inspectors returned thanks, and hoped the enthusiasm with which the farmers had taken up the destruction of the rabbit would continue and good results would sure to follow.

On Saturday, February ioth, the members of the Bombay tcotball Club gave a sendiolf to three more of (heir members who are oil to the training camp ut Tretitham. In all ten members of the Bombay Football Club have enlisted for the froiit. In the event ot the Prime Minister (Mr Masteyl coming north next week for th2 purpote of attending the I'ukekohe Show it ia likely that he will also pay a visit to Bombay to officially open (lie new I'ost Office Mr Massey has signiliad hni hope of Lieirg able to cairy out the ceremony, the actual date has uot yet been fixed.
