POKENO.

On Friday, December 4th, the annual social of the Farmers' Union Social Club was held. There was a good attendance, and the gathering was a success financially. Mr M. Brown as nsual presided at the piano. Messrs G. Hayward and B. Fitness acted as M.C's. During the supper adjournment the prizes won for the season were presented by Mr 8. O'Leary, as follows :—Lady's first, a chain bag, won by Miss O'Leary; lady's second, a silver shoehorn and hook, won by Miss J. Clark ; gent's first, a fountain pen, won by Mr G. Fraser ; gent's second, a silver match box, won by Mr J. Robertson.
