WAIPIPI.

NEW ANGLICAN CHURCH

The dedication service in connection with the opening of the new Anglican church at W&ipipi took place last Thursday, and was conducted by the Lord Bishop of the diocese (Dr Averill). The church was crowded for the occasion. Assisting his Lordship in the various rites were Revs. C. A. Vaughan, F. B. Dobson (Pukekohe), L. Foulkes (Pokeno), W. C. Wood (Papakura), and Mr A. E. King, lay reader lor the district. The Bishop's address was based on Psalm 122, verse* 1 and 2, and was followed throughout with deep inter, st.

At the close of the service a collection for the building fund realised over £9.

After the service the Bishop and others were entertained to afternoon tea, which was provided in a marquee in an adjoining paddock. The church is built in a very suitable position for the Waipipi district, and is of neat appearance. The interior is beautifully finished, and the work of erection has been carefully carried out by Mr D. G. Rowe, contractor, of Waiuku.
