PUKEKOHE HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY.

The Forthcoming Show. A meeting of the Executive of the l'ukekohe Horticultural Society was held in the secretary's office 011 Saturday evening ; present: L)r Wake president, in the chair), MrsEames, and Messrs J. B. Brown, W. Townson, J. M Baxter, A. Grigor and F E. Simpson (secretary). Judges were appointod for the following sections : Pot plants, cut blooms, floral artistry, fruit and vegetables, home industries, needle work and children's classes.

It was decided, on account of the Mercury Gas Co. being unable to supply lighting the same as last year, that the show be held in the Masonic Hall.

In the event of entries excoediug tho number anticipated, Dr Wake suggested that a marquee bo purchased.—This was agreed on.

To economise space in the hall, Mr Townson suggested that shelves be fixed to the walls, and Mrs Euues thought an excellent idea would be to erect pyramids in the corners for vegetables, and move a largo tablo in tho hall alonsido the stngo. Election day having been fixed for tho same day as arranged for tho show to opon, it was decided to niter the dates to the Thursday and Friday in tho week following election week. Mrs Eames having resigned, Mrs Baxtor was appointed to the vacancy on tho executive.—The presidont said they all regretted having to accept Mrs Eames' resignation, which was unavoidable seeing that she was leaving the district. A vote of t mnks was passed to Mrs Eamos for her valuablo assistance.

Pr Wake said that the Prime Minister (patron) would possibly have been able to open the show had it been held ou the 9th, and ho suggested that the right lion, gentleman bo asked to opou it on the alterod date.

A limit of 12 years or under was decided for the child's parasol and pram decorating items. Mr Grigor deemed it advisable to arrange with the local hand to play selections at the entrance to the hall betwoen the houis of 7 p.m. and N p.m. on the evenings of the show. — The secretary promised to attend to this matter.
