A manufacturing firm writing from Liverpool to Mr W. In England we have been greatly pleased to witness the outward manifestations of a loyalty on the part of the colonies which we always knew exit-ted and was only waiting for the time of action to make it-self apparent and we sincerely hope that the efforts that we are putting forward along with our allies may be the means of crushing the military power of Germany which has been a menace to the world for >o many yeais. No doubt you may hear from foreign sources that things are in a very bad state in the Mother Country, but let u> assure you that such is not the case. Everything in the way of busine-s is going on quite as usual with, of course, the exception of the trading to France, Belgium, Germany, and Austria which naturally is at a stands-till owing to the fact that it i-< impossible to make shipments I<> these countries, but otherwi>e business is being conducted as usual and so far from there being any panic there is a ijuiet comideuce among all clas-es of the community that however arduous the campaign may prove and whatever saciilires may be.
