A sum of £lO is wanted (o complete payment for same, which it is thought those who use the road to get to the beach may con'.nbutc in appreciation of what has been done, and the facilities th?y can now enjoy. 'I he settlers ahng the loute have contributed their quota, and the Coutity Council rates have also helped to bring about the result indicated. Subscriptions to make up the sum desired will be received by Mr R. Scouller, or may be left at this office.
The Waiuku Methodist Ladies' Guild are holding a garden party on Thursday, loth inst., at Mrs Hosking's residence, Farkville. At the Supreme Court, Auckland, on Monday, 28 th September, Patrick Edward Edmond Dromgool was, on the motion of Mr James C. Dromgool, admitted as a barrister and solicitor of the Supreme Court of New Zealand by His Honour the Chief Justice, Sir Robert Stout. The building trade continues to show marked activity. Several residences have been completed recently, and several more are in course of erection or contemplated. Mr J. D. Chalmers has started building at the southern end of the town, and Mr D. J. Rowe's tender was accepted on Saturday for a house for Mr Charles Barriball.
