PAPAKURA.
TOWN BOARD ELECTION
There are eleven candidates fur the seven seats on tho Papakura Town Board. Those are Messrs J. H. Bates, T. D. Campbell, E. 8. Cole, \V. Crawford, D. \V. Joiios, D. 15. Stewart, 11. Smith, A. Willis, W. 11. Watkinson, C. Waterman and 11. Wilson. Of the members of the retiring Town Board thoso standing for re-election arc Messrs A. Willis and D. B. Stewart, Messrs W. Richardson, Uodwyn Smith and Dave Wilson are not offering themselves. Tho Board is to be enlarged from live to seven members so that tho now Board will have a big majority of now members. Messrs Willis and D. Stewart havo both dono good sorviee for Fapakura and tho retiring members—Messrs Smith, J< ichardson and Wilson—deserve tho best thauks of the town district. Wo havo not tho ploasuro of tho peisonal acquaintance of all tho new candidates but from thoso we know, and from public report, Papakura is fortuuato in having such a lino " tield " from which to select its representatives for tho ensuing term.
