ALFRED BUCKLAND AND SONS. We held a special rale of dairy atock at Pukekohe on Saturday, August 29th, and had a big yarding. Buyers were iri att ndance, and prices were considerably better than those ruling lately.
Best cows sold at from £8 10s to £ll 10?; others, £5 to £7 10s; beet springing heifers, £8 to £lO ss; others, £5 to £7 10s. We held our usml monthly sale at PukekoV-e on Monday, Auuust 31st, and had large entries in all classes. There was a kern demand, and practically the whole yarding changed owners. Forward conditioned three and a-half to four-year-old steers, £8 5s to £!> Is; three-year-olds, £fi 10s to £7 10s; two to two and a-half-ycar-nlds, £5 10a to £0 10s; yearling to 18-month s'ecrs, £:; 3s to £4 15s; empty cows, £.'! 5s to £5 ss; IR-mnnth heifers, £U 5s tT £■! 8s; good calves, £2 3s to £2 lis; smaller, £1 83 to t'2. At Papakura yard* on Monday we held a special dairy sale, wheu tha advertised numbers came forward and prices were the same as late sales, Best cows and heifers, close to profit, sold at from £7 10s £l2; others £:! 10s to £7 ss; aged nrd inferior cows, £■'! to £4; bulls, £3 10s to SJB Bs. Al Papakura on Tuesday, at our usual monthly sale, there was a good yarding, and prices were firmer than late snles. The advertised steers sold well We quote: Three to fcur year old steers, in forward condition, £8 to £'J 12), Uo to three year steers, £5 5s to 17s lid: yearling to 18-months' steers, £2 13s to £4; empty cows and heifers, £;! l«s to £5 Ills; yearling heifers, £2 15s to £3 10s; calves, steers £2 to £2 10s, others, mixed sexes, 20s to 38s. Beef sold at Westfield rates.
