THE RAGLAN SEAT.

Reform Candidate Selected

Mr R- F. Bollard to Again

Carry the Colours.

A meetirg of ths delegates to Kaglan Reform League was held in the Waipa hot I. Ngaruawahia, on Saturday last, and was attended by many prominent supporters of the Government from all o;er the district. Anvjngtt othet business transacted, affecting the party's interests in this d:s'rict, (he [election of the candidate to contest the R'glan stat et the forthcoming election was decide. When this sut'jeet came up, o:ily one rairc. th.t if tha sitting member, Mr K. F. Pollard, was submitted, and it was carried most enthusiastically aid unanimously, that Mr Pollard thou IJ again carry the party's banner next November. Mr Pollatd's con tituer.cy cuts into Pukikohe district.

Touching Mr Bollard's candidature the Ngaruawahia "Advocate" writes:

Mr R. F. Bollard, MP. for the Raglan electorate, has again been chosen by the Raglan Reform League, aa Reform candidate at tne forthcoming elsctions. The decision does rot occasion any surprLe, because it was taken fcr granted by tho3e who are in a position to know to what extent the member has been really working in the interests of his constituents. It is realised that although Mr Bollard shuns, rather than grasps, opportunities for placing himself in the limelight, he is always theie when work is to be done. The numerous occasions on which his services have been sought in connection with matters where arbitration was needed between local bodies and the Government or State Departments, ate clssr indications of the interest taken by him in the affairs of the district. Further, in regard to the needs of the electorate, Mr Bollard has always been ready to make personal investigations, and to place the position before the heads of the Department concerned, adding his own recommendations and keeping a steady watch on the progress* of whatever projects were in hand. Of course, there are differences of opinion; hut the moot that any one man can do is to do his best, and we think all parties will agree that the sitting member has acted up to this maxim. It is confidently expected that Mr Bollard will again be the recipient of the confidence of the great majority of the electors of Raglan.'
