PAPAKURA.
PARLIAMENTARY UNION. It has been felt for some time that it would materially benefit the young folks of this township if some sort of a literary or debating society was held during the months. A few days since a meeting for that purpose was held and the matter fully discussed, but as the attendance was not what it should be it was decided to adjourn the meeting to last Friday evening. At that meeting it was decided that the proposed society should take the form of a Parliamentary Union. The Rev. W. C. Wood was appointed leader of the House and Mr E. S. Cole was elected to the position of leader of the Opposition. Tho meeting decided that women should be admitted on the gamejfooting as men. The sessions will take place weekly ou Thursday evenings, and at the next meeting the leader will announce his Cabinet and tho measures he proposes to bring for ward. The ycung people feel very enthusiastic and look forward to some instructive and interesting debates.
