MAUKU.
CRICKET CLUB BALL. The Mauku Cricket Club are holding a ball in Patumahoe Hall on Wednesday, May 13tb. TENNIS CLUB DANCE. A most enjoyable dance was held by the above club in the Patumahoe hall on Friday, 17th inst. There was a very large attendance, and a satisfactory sum wss raised towards improving the courts. After light refreshments, provided by the ladies of the club, had been partaken of th-? trophies won in the recent tournament were presented ly Mr P. W. Ryburn. Miss Violet Wright received i tennis racket dunated by Mr J. Forbes; Mr G. Perry a set of sleeve links, given by Mr W. G. Pleydell. All present declared the evening a great success, and a ,wcrd of praise can be accorded the committee for the excellence of tha arrangements, and to Miss Pulleng for the able manner in which she presided at the piano, the music being declared by all to be "first class."
