OTAUA.
HAY STACK DEStKOYED. a large bay stack belonging to Mr H. 0. Mellsop, and estimated to contain about twenty-five tons of hay, was destroyed by fire on Thursday nighr. The fire was discovered soon alter it started by Mr Oldfield, who roused up Ihe neighbours but their efforts to get it under were fruitless. The stack was uninsured. THE CHURCH BLAZE. Further details of the fire already reported in the "Times" show that about an hour after Berrice on Sunday evening a light was seen in tho church which on investigati n was seen to come from the lamp on the organ and by some means bad got in tkz\ which was rapidly spreading over the organ. It was Mr A. Gillatt who succeeded in getting through the window and smothering the fire before anv serious damage was done
