DRURY ROAD BOARD.

The April Meeting. Those present at the April meeting of the Drury Road Board were Messrs Glasson (chairman), Bremrer, Langford, T. Brook-, McNaughton and S. Fielding (clerk). A letter was received from Mr McCormick's solicitors regarding the willows in Hay's creek. —On the motion ot Mr Langford, seconded by Mr Brooks, it was resolved that the matter be left in the hands ottre chairman, Messrs Bremner and McNaughlon.

[This matter is also referred to in trie report of the Rapakcra Town Board.-Ed.] It was resolved to notify Mesirs McCall Bros, ti cut down pine trees growing on their Beach road boundary.

Mr McNaughton reported that there had been some little delay through a break-down of the crushing plant, but about another seven days would complete tha work on tha Beach road. It was decided that the next move of the plant be to the Rama Rama road. Mr Langford reported that the whole of the metal received from Morningside had been spread and well rolled. It was resolvid to supply 50 yards of metal for new work on Sutton's road. The clerk reported that there were still five ratepayers who had not paid thtir rates.—Resolved to send final notices to each. Mr H. Cossev waited on the Board and suggested that if the Board found the pipes for a culvert across the road opposite his property he would put them in. —Matter left to Messrs Langford and McNaughton to inpect and report at next meeting. The chairman's motion re question of the Board undertaking repairs on the Opaheke half-chain road prompted considerable discussion. Members, while expressing sympathy with those ratepayers who have to use thi« road, being their only outlet, were generally of opinion that tbe landowners interested should give the additional half-chain required. With members' permission the chairman withdrew the motion, and moved that the question be deferred for further discussion at tbe annual meeting of ratepayers next month. Seconded by Mr Langford and carried unanimously.

At tbe close of the meeting Mr Langford intimated that he proposed resigning his position on the Board, but members would not listen to such a proposal, and all expressed a sincere hope that Mr Langford would reconsider his decision. The annual Road Board electioa takes place in May, Messrs Glasson and Bremner being the retiring members.
