FARMERS' UNION.
Buckland Branch. Ihe monthly meeting of the Buckland branch of the New Zealand Farmers' Union was held in the Buckland hall on Saturday evening, 11th April. There was a Rood attendance of members. The chair was occupied by Mr Neal. The meeting was a contrast to the previous one, being very dull and quiet, members not apparently being in a debating mcod. It was intimated that about 60 would make the trip from Buckland to the farmers' picnic at Ruakura, which number would include about 20 special constables. It was decided to ask the local governing bodies to erect ringer posts on the main cross roads in the district, and to ask the County Council to provide watering accommodation for ariimals at the railway station yard and on the main road near the yard.
The provincial secretary having cc/isented to give an address at a meeting of the Union, it was decided to call a special meeting early in May in order to give members a chance of hearing Mr Schmitt give an address on Farmers' Union matters generally.
