RUNCIMAN.
LOSS 10 THE DISTRICT. W Thi3 district has sustained a disloss in the death of Mrs Mark Ballard, who died at her residence "Berkenlee," Runciman, on March :!9tb, at the early ago of 47. The Presbyterian Church has lost a willing and cheerful worker, and many others have lost a good snd true neighbour and iriend. Deceased came to Pukekohe East about 40 years t'go and her whole life has beeo one of unselfish love ar.d devotion to all with whom she came in contact. Our sympathy goes out to Mr Ballard and family in their great less. The funeral took place on March 213t and the Inst sad tribute of respect was paid by people frcm far and near, over 50 vehicles, bendei those riding on horaeback and those on toot, attending the burial, the cortege being the longest on record for this district. The Rev. S. Nixon conducted the burial service and'with deep emotion dwelt on the great and valuable life that was now at rest.
