MERCER.
Some excitement was caused at Mercer on Saturday by the actions of a man who seemed to be greatly excited. He rang up tha police and fetched a doctor to tha scene of a mythical accident. The man's behaviour was so strange that the police took him into custody as a lunatic, but subsequently came to the conclusion that be was drunk. When charged in the Police Court - yesterday with insobriety, he was remanded for three days lor the purpose of medical observation.
