BOWLING.
The Pukekohe Club.
During the holiday season some hne play has been enjoyed on ihe bowling greens of Pukekohe and Waiuku. A rink from the Pukekohe club took part in the Auckland tournament, and although it only succeeded in winning two out of nine games a capital holiday was eDJoyed. The rink comprised Cahill, Wright, Graham and Eamea (a.), who played in that order. It was not Pukekohe's strongest rink, and in probably five of the nine teams they met they were outclassed. The Carlton rink (the only team to beat the section winner of Section E) was in turn beaten by Pukekohe by 20 to 15. Pukekohe beat Otahuhu by 26 to 10, and also held their own against Remuera on Remuera green up to the 19th bead when the scores were equal. The country club, too. was only beaten by Auckland by a single point, drawn by Auckland's skip with bis last bowl. So that although they were outclassed, chiefly through inexperience in tournament play and because of the faster greens to which they were unaccustomed, Pukekohe made as good a stand as might reasonably have been expected. The skip of the Pukekohe rink is to compete in the single-handed championship tournament to be begun on New Year's Day.
