GLENBROOK.
SUCCESSFUL CONCERT. The postponed concert was held i.i the Hall on Thursday, December 18th, and proved a success. The weather was all that could be desired, the audience fairly large, tand the programme submitted firstclaaa, encores being so frequent that v all the items could not be given, time not allowing. After supper dancing was indulged in till the early mornt ing, Mf' Bert Chalmers acting as fM.C. V. fc The following was the programme:— Songs by Mtb fcJ. Dromgool. Miss McGregor, Mr and Mrs B. Andrew, Mr Greenhead and Mr Loder. Mediations by Messrs O'Bara, Howe and Creamer, * and J violin solo by Mr Osmond. A hearty vote of thanks to the performers, proposed by the chairman (Mr J. D. Chalmers), concluded a very successful function. ANNUAL PICNIC AND SPORTS. A public meeting was held in the ball on Saturday night to decide about the annual picnic and sports, and after discussion it was decided to * hold the event on Thursday, January V < loth, 1914. A strong committee I was formed, and if given tine •A. weather it will no doubt be the usual success. A POLITICAL KUMOUK. It is rumoured that Mr J. W. McLann, who contested the last two elections for Franklin, in the Liberal interests, against the Puma Minister, has come to the conclusion that the Franklin hurdle was too big and seemed to be getting bigger for success, and has decided to try aid win the confidence of the elector:, of the Raglan seat at the turning election.
