OTAUA.
SUNDAY SCHOOL CONCERT. The tea and concert in connection with the Union Sunday School took place in the Otaua hall on December ,16th. Although the weather was threatening a goodly number sat iown acd partook of a sumptuous tea! provided by tbe Otaua friends. ( The tables were presided over by I Mesdames P. Denize, Deed, Gillou, and Sommerville, assisted by Mrs C. Denize and Misses Henry and Sommerville. During the concert Mr A. McElwain succeeded in driving off all gloom and depression with his recitations acd monologues, all of which were encored. Songs were • given by Mrs Vaughan, encored; -Mr Bissicks, encored; Miss Mac- . gregor. encored; Miss Muir, encored; Miss D. Bright, Miss Winnie West. Recitations by Rev. C. A. Vaughan, Misses. Kathleen Motion and West. Pianoforte solos by Miss Motion, Miss Linda Neil, Miss Agnes Neil, and Miss Williams. ' Mr Douglas, Sunday school superintendent, gave a short but satisfactory report of the state of the -Sunday school. The ripening bymn iS: —was sung, by tbe Sunday school scholars, accompanied by Baias Ruth Hull. The accompaniments were clayed by Mrs C. Motion, assisted by Mra Selby. The chair was occupied bv Rev. Barr, Presbyterian minister. Mr Robert Morrison gave the utmost satisfaction to the tea vendors by his undivided attention to fire and boiler. COMING SPORTS. The Otaua apotts committee have decided to hold their annual sports on January 15th, 1914. Particulars will be advertised later. ♦
