PIGEON SHOOTING.
Curtis and Harvey Cup.
Won by Pukekohe.
Some time ago Pukekohe Gun Club were made the holders of a very handsome trophy by Messrs Curtis and Harvey. The conditions attached were that the cup had to be defended against challengers, but if won three times in succession it was to become the absolute property of that club. Waiuku and Huntly duly challenged, but both those clubs were defeated. Then Karargahake made a bid for the cup, but the match resulted in a draw, 70 all. This match had to be shot over and the content took place in Pukekohe on Tuesday. With twelve men aside, ten birds cjch, Pukekohe won with 83 out of a possible 120— not very brilliant shooting. They exceeded their oppor.erts' score by a single point, Karangahake making 82. The contest was a keen one, and whei the two last men faced the traps the score was even. Excitement ran high throughout and both winners and losers are to be congratulated upon their hard-fought competition. The secretary, Mr A. P. Daysh, expressed the home team's pl.asure at the sportsmanlike action of Karangahake in coming to Pukekohe upon such short notice. The notice was short, however, because the time had come when Pukekohe club had to procure fresh grounds. Ho congratulated the visitors upjn the excellentt stand they hud made. Cheers were mutually exchanged between the clubs. The individual scores were:—

SWEEPSTAKES.
There were sixteen entrants fur the five-bird sweepstakes. F. Mouldey, having secured the possible, got 13 successive birds and won, F. Dare, 12 birds, being second. J. Fausett, live birds, was third.
THE VISITORS ENTERTAINED. With their customary hospitality the Pukekohe club entertained their visitors at dinner at the Pukekohe hotel on Tuesday evening, Th 3 Karaiigahake and Pukekohe clubs were toasted and sincere compliments were paid to the secretary ol the local club (Mr Daysh) by a number of the visiting shootists. Karangahake members joined in saying that at no other place at which they had visited had they ever been so well treated as in Pukekohe, and that was why they were glad to come back; again. 'lhey extended a hearty welcome to this club to visit Karangahake to try conclusions with that club on their own ground,
