Annual Genera! Meeting.

The annual genera! meeting of the Puktkoh9 Cricket Club wai held in the Borough Council Chambers on Thursday, October iir.d, when, owing to various causes, there was a per attendance.

Mr F. Brcwn was elected to the chair.

Tha treasurer's balancs sheet showei that ths last season started with a debit balance of about £9, in addition to which, owing to the neglect in leaving all the material in ths box on ths ground during the previous wi-itfr, a further sum of aboi.t £8 had to be expended in replacing gear which lisd been damaged by the damp. In epite of these unfortunate circumstances the Club wound up the sea3on with a debit balanca cf just over £5, so that the pa3t season may be considered to have been a successful one from a financial pdnt of view. It is hoped to wipe off this deficit by means 'f the proceeds of an entertainment shortly to ba given by the Pukekohe Amateur Dramatic Club, who have gtnerously promised to donate one-third of their profits for this purpese. The secretary reported that the last season hj: d been a very successful o:,e as regards the matches played. The club had won (he M:r.ukau Association Cu,>, presented bv Mr W. 11. Warin, of Mauku. Eight matches were flayed in the competition, six of whi-h were won, o:-e iost and one drawn. The competition for the cup w«s very keen, Pukekohe o"ly winning by one puint from Mauku in the la;t mstch by securing a two-p-dnt win over that very sporting rlu h , who held th° cup the previous season. In addition to the Association match r s, four games were played with visiting teams from Auckland. In these gr.mes. however. Paktkohe had to acknowledge defe-it oi three occasions, the remaining game b r ing drawn in favour of Pukekohe. Owing to t'.ete games being played on public holidays it was often very difficult to get together representative teams, which was much to be regretted, as this class of cricket was always of an educational valua to country clubs, and invariably p:ovr.'ed very enjovalla games, i'wo matches were eho played between the marritd and eingla members of the club, each tide winning one ggm.3. The Hon. W. F. Massey was again el.cted patron of the club; Mr William Roubton, president; and ths following gentlemen vice-F'-csidents:—Messrs A. B. Barter, W. G. Abbott, M. Cobbald and F. Ptikin?. Mr J. F. Deans, who last year I acted as secretary and treasurer, handed in his resisratiun from that position, aa he fund that he would be u:ial le to give the necessary time required during the coming season.
