Curtis and Harvey Cup. Again Won by Pukekohe. Wai;;ku Gun Clue, t'i2 challenge for thy C:irsi> and Haiv.y Cup, were unsucce-aful in their effort to wrea- the trophy f;om the Pukekoh3 District Cluj. Th 3 mUch fired on the htlders' grounds yesterday, when everything passed off gplerdidly. Mr H. Barber acted aa trapper and Mr li. Corry, of Merc-.r, raada a successful referte. On the former occasion when Pufc:koria hid to dsfend tnu cup they won ajainst Huntly by 11 puints ts GO, Yest;rday they won Ly 86 tj 61. Total 61 SWEEPSTAKES. Thera ware eighteen competitors for the ten-bird sweeptakes which followed. This was won by Wilson, of Pukekohe, with the possible, K. Corrv being second with 9 after a shoot-orf for rise? with W. Woodward, of Waiuku. Other competitors were:—Wright, Fausett, Blake, Gardner, F. Mouliey, Daysb, 8; McNaliy, 7; Kosve, Preece, McDonnell, Vuj'jci"b, 6; Watson, Hair, 5; Having, Keinelly, 3. The eix-bird event was won by J. Fausett wiih the possible after a shoot-off with J Wright, also with the possible, who took accord place. Mf-Nally and Corry, 5; Mculdey, Vujucich, 4; Preece, Blake, Wilson, Woodward, 3; Gardner, 2; Daysh, 1. THE VISITORS ENTERTAINED. Tho visiting team were entertained at dinntr in the evening, at the Pukekohe hotel. After the repast, Mr Lawrie, Mayor o' Pukekohe, propose! "Tha Waiuku Gun Club" and cordially expressed th? hops that they had had a good time. Being a Pukekohe may hi was naturally glad that the home team had woo, and with two legs in he trusted they would finally secure the cup in the next competition.
In acknowledging ths toast, which wa3 enthusiastically honoured, Mr D. secretary of the W'aiuku Club, said he heartily thanked members of the Pukekohe Club for ths cordial reception of the afternoon and for their hospitality of the eveni-g. He voiced tne good feelirg that had always existed between the Pukekohe ar.d Waiuku Clubs, and trusted that it would continue. The match that day had taught Waiuku Club the lesson that they did net attend ths same practices as Pdkekohe members. And until they did so they cculd not expect to lift this cup, or any ether cup. They had met Pukekohe three times and had been time times defeated—but this was the worst beating of the lot. But Waiuku Club was not finished yet! (Applaiue). He would like to see Pukekohe go in for sparrows; with the sparrows aud the chys they could have a day cut and thay would then see which was really th. better club. (Applause-). Mr Kennelly: But there arj no sparrows in Pukekohe. Mr Howe: No sparrows? Then I desire again en behalf of Waiuku to thank you for your hospitality. "The Donors" was proposed by Mr Daysh, secretary of the Pukekohe Club. He thanked the Waiuku secretary for his kind remarks in proposing the Pukekohe Club. "If there is any team I wuuld like to see d.'leat us, it *s Waiuku." (Applause). The gift of the donors had brought the ciuba together and that was a good tt.ing.
Mr J. Kennelly proposed "Oar Host'' and epoka kind things, to which Mr Cubhali suitably replied. Mr Edmes replied to the toast vf the Fress, which was propessd by the Masor.
