BOMBAY.
EUCHRE PARTY. The fortnghtly euchre party and dance was held in the Bombay Hall on FriJay night, Ist August. Miss N. McCewen was the winner of the ladies' prize, ard Mr R. J. Corbett the gentleman's priz?. The minor prizes fell to Miss Ramsbottom Bnd Mr P. Sawyer. Mr J. Fahey supplied the music for the dance. PAPARATA ROAD BOARD.
The ordinary meeting of the Road Hoard was held in the hall on Saturday afternoon, August 2nd; members present — Messrs Thomas (chairman), best, Andetton, Carter, G. Wootten, and the clerk (Mr F. J. Wootten). No tenders received for the work at Happy Valley. An offer of about 30 totaTa strainers, 9 feet to 10 feet long, at six drillings each, was accepted by the Board. It was decided to use gome of them at the big culvert near Mr C. Wootten's, and tha rest to go for the culvert in Happy Valley. The rate struck at the last meeting wis confirmed. ACCIDENT. Mr B. Landon met with an acci-
dent on Sunday morning whilst milking. One of his cows slipped and " fell on hia leg, breaking both bones between the knee and ankle. He i 3 now under the care of Dr Bronte,
