DEHORNED CAITLE.
Some discussion ensued as to whether dehorned cattle should cot be permitted t3 cimpete against horned cattle upon even terms.l "Why," said one membar, "if a Shorthorn bull, say, had bad horns all you would need to do would be to cut them off, to remove the defect. But that would not beneficially affect the progeny, which might inherit the same defect." No determination was arrived at, but members appeared to think that no interference with the judge could be made in the matter. ANNUAL MEETING
The annual meeting was pretiously fixed to be held on July 30th, but it was found that this would clash with the Conference of A. and P. Societies to be h.ld in Wellington. As Mr Wylie and Mr Rutherford are to be delegates to that conference it was agreed to hold the annual meeting of this Society on Wednesday, July 23rd, at 2.30 p m.
