OBITUARY.
The death is reported of Mr Joseph Walker, of Dominion road, Mount Eden, and formerly of Mauku, at the age of 66 years. The late Mr Walker was an old Mauku resident and was a long time farming here. For many years he held the positions of secretary to the Mauku Road Board and School Committee. He was also a keen church worker, and was a man highly respected by all who knew him.
On retiring from farming he took up the business of general storekeeper at Mt. Albert, where by careful and attentive methods he built up the present prosperous business. Mrs Walker is a daughter of Mrs Kerr, of Patumahoe Hill, and she has a family of five—two sons and three daughters— left to mourn the loss. TENNIS CLUB BALL.
The West Maoku Tennis Club are making arrangements to huld a grand rlain and fancy dress ball. The function is to be held in the Paturoahoe hall on Friday, July 18th, and gives premise of eclipsing all past Eocial succesaes of this district. The function is advertised elsewhere in this issue.
