OBITUARY.
Mrs J. W. Howard. It is with regret that we record the d. j ath of Mrs J. W. Howard, of Pukekohe, at the farly age of 37. Mrs Howard was horn in Strathir.ogle, Fif shire, Scotlard, in 1876, and iame to New Zealand with her parent?, Mr and Mrs G. Miller, in 1883. The family re ided in Te Awamut'J whera at the earlv age of 12 Mrs Howard was organist. She took an active part in all social and cnurch work Until he* departure for the OH Country in 1896, whrre she was married to Mr J. W. Howard in Glasgow. Trie attractions of New Zealand proving too Mr and Mrs Howard returned to this Dominio - ', and after travelling through this country for jome years they finally down at farming in the Pukekohe district. During Mrs Howard's residence in the Old Country she was much in the musical world, and pissed with success through the Koyal Academy of Music i» 1899, wheiever possible with her voic all charitable objects. Mrs Howard was hi Id in deep affection by a large circle of friends wto deplora her untimely death. Shi haves a husband and a family of three children to moirn the loss cf a faithtul wife ard a losing mottur. The funeral is to take place this afternoon.
