Whilst travelling along the road towards Tuakau South on Saturday afternoon Constable Will cocks, of Pukekohe, and a family party had an unpleasant experience. Whilst the driver was pointing out certain features the hor«e shied suddenly at some bags of manure. One wheel ran up the embankment (the embankments were very close on either side) and the gig, containing Mr and Mrs Willcocks, a sister of the latter and a boy, turned completely over, all of the occupants being thrown on to the road. Fortunately Mr Willcocks retained bis bold on the reins, and although the horse had half escaped from its harness, and had one shaft under its belly and the other over its back, the animal was kept at a standstill and quietly unharnessed. With some assistance the gig was quickly got on to its wheels again.
