Tomatoes in Fukekohe have gone down to fourpence per pound, and from njw onwards this very fine fruit (is it fruit or vegetable'') is likely to bj much more plentiful. Local crops are rapidly ripening, and nearly everybody grows a few tomato plants. Amongst the crops that are grown commercially, a good season, free from blight, has been enjoyed, and generally the fruiting has been prolific.
