SHOOTING. J On Saturday last members of the % local Gun Club competed for the trophy presented by Mr C. K. Bell. 4 Widespread interest was taken ia the proceedings, and a goodly number of onlookers were present. Shooting averages were not high, owing prob : ably 10 the strong cross wind that was blowing. W. Deeble was the .3. successful competitor, handicap 27 yards, breaking 6 out of 10 birds. Dr Cheesman and J. McNeil, handi- • cipof 5 yards each, tied for second place, with 5 birds each. In the shoot-off Dr Cheesman proved sue- i cessful. Eleven members competed for the trophy.
