Swimming Baths.
[TO THE EDITOR.] Sir,—Nuw that the summer is coming on 1 think the Borough Cour.cil ought to take steps to e<tablish swimming baths in the town. This district is rather badly off with respect to swimming places, and in the hot summers that we experience a swimming Lath would b4 a boon. I need haidly point out the advantages ihit would follow to the teaching of the boya and girls to swim. Ihe pastime not only add 3to the health and vigour, but on many occasions the practical fruits of the swimming bath have been reaped in the saving of human life. Could you, Sir, help in this matter? I 2m, etc.,
BATHER. [We quite agree that the baths would be ati excellent institution, but at the present time we fear, to use a vulgarism, that the Council has as much in the mouth as it can chew The Mayor (who is also chairman of the Schorl Committee) has for a long time entertained the idea of building baths at the District High Schcol.—Ed.]
