Drury Road Board By-law.

I [lO THL EUITCR.] Sir,—Re ktteron the above subject by Mr Glasson, chairman of the Driry Ro;d Roard A great number of ratf payers who are thoroughly conversar.t with the facts of the case, and the meeting referred to | by Mr Glasion, have asked me to reply. Mr Glasson states that al this meeting of so-called ratepayers there : were only 19 ratepayers. lhis is contrary to lact?. The 25 who voted! for the motion No. 1 (condemning the proposed by-law) are all bona fide rat ravers and property-holders.: Not ore rcr-ratepayer recorded a vote on ihi - motion, which was moved Ly J. Cfsiey, senr. (a ratepayer for over 30 years) and seconded by R. Brnoks (also a ratepayer for over 30 years). These are solid facts which I challenge Mr Glasson to Dublicly | oppose at any meeting of ratepayers : and to sjpply contrary information, j Mr Glasson also states there were only 19 ratepayers at ihia meeting; if 25 voted for the motion and 4 against, his makes at least a total o. 29. It reference to the way the meeting was conducted: well it I was exemplary, the only objection, if any, was the latitude allowed Mr Glasson. Mr Glasson, I notice, makes no comment upon a petition against, the proposed by-law presented to Board, ami carrying the signatures rf a majority of ratepayers; among the first number cf aigi.atuies beine i.o less a person than the mover of a motion which Mr Glasson ataies was mada at a meeting in May list expressing confidence in the Board. This proves that this gei tleman does not still y express hi» confidence in the Board's action in reference to the heavy traffic by-la™, at all events.—l am, etc,, FA CIS. [We have excised some paragraphs and altered the tone of the foregoing, but without affecting its essence. We hope that our correspondents will conduct their controversies in a fashion that will engender no personal bitterness. — Ed.]
