HARRISVILLE.
School Committee Deputation. At Wednesday's meeting of the j Auckland Education Board a deputation representing the Tuakau and I Harrisville School Committees waited on the Board to protest against the moving ot either school. The Board had previously received a petition from the Tuakau Progressive League, advocating a central school tJ serve both districts, and had adopted a resolution that both committees concerned Hiiould be furnished with a copy of the correspondence relating to the matter, in the hope that they might be able to arrive at some agreement among themselves. Mr (Jreeuslade said that there was a growing feeling among school committees that they were not treated with sufficent couitesy by the Board, and he believed that there was same justification for this feeling. The chairman, Mr G. J. Garland, said that he had frequently asked the school committee of a district which he v&s visiting in connection with educational matters to meet him, and had been met with a refusal. He h<.d now given up endeavouring to meet committees. The deputation was acquainted with 'he decision already arrived at by the JJiard, aid was also informed that their contention in regard to the inadvisability of moving either school would be carefully considered. | Continued od Page 2.
