Footbal I. A match between tiie Mauku and Waiau teams was play wl in Patumahoe on Saturday, which after a keenly contested gamc[ resulted in a draw, neither side storing. Mr C. Shipherd captained tile Mauku team and Mr C. McLarin the Waiaus. A return match ia to bo played at Waiau shortly. Spring is already in evidence, willow troes and many fruit trees showing leaf and llowor. Mr J. Ferguson's chafl'iug plant is again in the district finishing up the last of the stacks and is doing some excellent work. On Saturday morning 101 sacks of chaff were put through in 15 uiinutos—over two a minute. «
