FARMERS' UXIOX. The monthly meeting of the Mauku Branch of the NiZ. Farmers' Union was held on Fijiclay evening. The remits for the Provincial Conference were fully discussed and the Presi(Mr W. Finlay) was appointed as a delegate to represent the Branch. Three new members were elected. Road 80. rd Meeting. The annual me sting of the Mauku Road Board was ield on Saturday in the Patumahoe ! all. The Chairman, Mr S. Pilgrim, £ave an interesting resume of the ye ir's work. It was pointed out that a grant of £250, which had been s 'cured for the Patumahoe ward, hi id been obtained through the instr [mentality of Messrs J. Henrv and W Howard, members for the ward. Th< Waiau ward had successfully raise! a loan ol £ISOO which was being >xpended in cutting hills and forma ion on the worst portions of the oads which, when completed, would only require metalling to eusure go d roads for all tinie. Messrs Adolph aud Henry, retiring members for the Mauku and Patumahoe wards res] ectively, have been returned un-oppo ed while Mr Clark, retiriug member for Waiau ward, has been re-elec el. He lias been momber for Wainji for the past nineteen years. | The secretary (Mr A.
