MEDICAL USES FOR EGGS.
REMEDY FOR BURNS.
That eggs are indispensable in the eookery world is accepted, but that they have medical uses, too, is not commonly known. For instance, the skin of a hard-boiled egg moistened with cold water will slowly help to draw the pus or matter from a boil. Spread over a piece of flannel and wrap over the affected parts. A mixture of equal parts of glycerine and egg yolk is a simple and effective remedy for burns. This mixture may be made and kept in a bottle, tightly corked. When the skin gets rough, the white of an egg rubbed in at bedinne helps to make it smooth and soft. Allow the egg to remain on for a lew minutes, then wash eff with soap and warm water.
The yolk of an egg rubbed into the scalp at bedtime will cleanse the hair thoroughly, but the hair should be washed in tepid water, to which » little borax had been added, in the morning.
