TIRAU BRANCH. The members of the Tirau branch met last Thursday, Mrs. Kuhtz presiding in the absence of Mrs. McLaren. A vote of sympathy was passed with Mrs. C. T. Allen in her severe illness, and hopes were expressed for her speedy recovery. The secretary was instructed to order a supply of the New Zealand Women’s Household Guide. The treasurer acknowledged sums of £4 5s 3d (share of profits from “ Gypsy Rover ” performance), £4 5s (old time dance on December 3), and £3 10s, further donations towards rest room fund. As soon as business was completed a demonstration of cooking with an electric range was given by officials of the Thames Valley Power Board. This proved most interesting and instructive, and was very much apprei ciated by the ladies present, there being over thirty in attendance. Afi ternoon tea was served later, and at the conclusion Mrs. Kuhtz rose and on behalf of members of the Division thanked the lady and gentleman very much for the very pleasant way in which they had demonstrated the usefulness of the range, remarking that she was sure that all those present who had not already done so would want to buy one, after seeing how beautifully the cooking turned out. Several members took advantage of the meeting to exchange late seedlings, and the afternoon proved a j' very enjoyable and entertaining one. to all present.
