Tokoroa.

School Concert. The following report of the above function was contributed by a pupil of the Tokoroa school: — On Friday, October 18, a very enjoyable concert was held in the Tokoroa Hall in aid of the school funds. The hall was very nicely decorated with streamers and the stage with ■ greenery and flowers. The hall was well filled by parents and friends of the children. The programme consisted of recitations, songs and a little play called “ Soot and the Fairies.” The children deserve great praise for the way they carried out their parts. Miss M. Bryant as Queen of the Fairies, Master D. Fraser as Captain Soot, Master L. Lory as Dr. Sunlight, Master C. Graydon as the Doctor’s Secretary, all carried out their parts very well indeed. They were ably assisted by the Black Brigade and the : Fairies. Miss Sloper played the accompaniments for the concert. After the concert the hall was cleared for dancing. The dance music was supplied by Mr. and Mrs. A. Brown, of Putaruru, while Mrs. Bryant and Mr. Clatworthy played extras. The floor was in good order for dancing. About ten o’clock a i very cointy supper, provided by the local ladies, was served and enjoyed by all. About 12 o’clock the dancing closed and every one went home tired t but happy after a very enjoyable J evening. The takings at the door amounted to £6, which will go to the school library funds.
