POWER BOARD’S METHODS.
MR. ALLEN’S CRITICISM. Farmers Endorse Attitude. Mr. J. M. Allen’s criticism of the business methods of the Thames Valley Power Board was warmly commended by members of the Morrinsville branch of the New Zealand Farmers’ Union at the monthly meeting on Saturday. Mr. J. E. Leeson said that Mr. Allen was to be congratulated on his fight to improve the methods of the power board. The president, Mr. G. Pirrit, said he had been very pleased in the attitude of the Morrinsville member, whom he considered quite correct in his criticism. | Mr. A. Topham said that Mr. Allen might go evert further and get a staff in Morrinsville to do wiring. At present one had to send to Te Aroha to get wiring done. Mr. G. Pirrit: No matter what you want you have to go to Te Aroha. Mr. Allen: This is hardly a matter for congratulation. It happens in the ordinary course of business. Mr. Leeson moved that a letter be sent to the Power Board endorsing the attitude of Mr. Allen. A member: And make it a pretty hot letter at that. (Laughter). The motion was seconded by Mr. Pirrit and carried. —Morrinsville Star.
