THE TAURANGA TRIP. The Waikato East players who made the week-end trip to Tauranga speak well of their treatment by tie Tauranga people. Apart from the actual tennis the most outstanding incident of the trip was the enrolment of a popular Matamata bank officer in the Tauranga Fire Brigade. He was called upon for service on Saturday night and he was no “ dark town fireman.” The Tauranga brigade’s one regret was that he was not. available to them when their team left, for the Hokitika demonstration.
