PUTARURU ASSOCIATION. The annual meeting of the Putaruru Cricket Association was held on Saturday, Mr. G. G. Griffiths presiding. Delegates were present from Arapuni, Putaruru and Te Whetu clubs. After the report and balance-sheet bad been adopted, discussion arose on the question of the association carrying on. The chairman held that every effort should be made to keep the game going, and suggested that a third team called “ Suburbs,” of" such suitable name, should be formed from the odd players from Putaruru, Arapuni and Waotu.

The secretary held the association should continue its work, even if there were only two clubs. Three rounds could be arranged and also cutside matches. It would be a great mistake to allow the association to lapse. Finally, on the motion of Messrs. Griffiths and Dawson, it was decided to reduce the affiliation fee to 10s 6d, and to approach the Arapuni and Puj taruru clubs with a view to their fielding two teams each. Officers. Officers for the year were elected as follows: Patron, Mr. F. F. Hockly, M.P.; president, Mr. A. G. Leggatt; vice-presidents, Messrs. T. Rabone (Arapuni), H. B. Coupe (Putaruru), W. R. Pass (Waotu), H. McArthur (Selwyn), H. A. Jensen (Te Whetu) y , A. H. Tompkins (Te Whetu); hen. secretary and treasurer, Mr. J v C. Pettit, i PUTARURU v. ARAPUNI. A friendly game between the above teams at Arapuni resulted in a win for the visitors on the first innings. Though few of the players had had a knock previously fair form was shown both with bat and ball by several players, though the work in the field was not of the same standard.
